The "Turtle Shell" chassis in 3U and 6U

Various sizes available:

• 3U 4 slot, extra proprietary sized EMI proof middle slot
• 6U 2 slot dedicated system
• 3U 2 slot

VPX versions are available with a PCIexpress bus implementation on the backplane, having 8 lanes per slot and a 64 lane switch, therefore allowing up to 3 add-on slots and a CPU slot for very high bandwidth computing applications. The picture on the right is the 3U 4-slot or 6U 2-slot. Shown below is the 3U 2-slot version.

PCI Systems unique VPX switch solution on the back plane allows easy customization of backplane topology. Custom fabric implementation, like full mesh are available per request. Very high heat sink area for maximum cooling. The same rule applies for other cards with high heat dissipation, like CPU or FPGA cards. Depending on the heat they generate, they can also be connected to the top or the bottom (Cold plate) of the chassis.

The chassis is designed to meet the intent of MIL-STD 810.
